DEMPSEY CHALLENGE STORYWALK

We've partnered with Child's Play International, YMCA, Curious City and Bancom Signs to bring local families our very own Dempsey Challenge StoryWalk®

We're excited to offer a special opportunity for local families to enjoy the outdoors with a beautiful nature walk featuring "Cat's Colors," a special book featured for the Dempsey Challenge. On September 26 + 27, families are invited to the YMCA's 93-acre Outdoor Learning and Education Center (OLEC), located in Auburn, Maine. Using proper CDC safety precautions, you can walk the beautiful trails, follow the StoryWalk path and log your Dempsey Challenge miles as a family.

Anyone that completes the Dempsey Challenge StoryWalk can contact Laurie at [email protected] for a free copy of our featured book, Cat's Colors! Simply email a picture of the very last sign and the beautiful spot that it's located in, along with name and mailing address and we'll get a copy right out to you!

BONUS: If you are local, Tish, in partnership with the Auburn-Lewiston YMCA, will be leading warm-ups in person at the YMCA's 95-acre Outdoor Learning and Education Center (OLEC) located in Auburn, Maine. She will be greeting families on Saturday, September 26 from 9am - 11am, run a quick stretch and warmup before you head off to complete the Dempsey Challenge StoryWalk!

YMCA OLEC, 167 Stetson Road, Auburn Maine  04210

Please wear your masks and follow proper CDC guidelines for outdoor activities.

About StoryWalk

StoryWalk® is an innovative and delightful way for children — and adults! — to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. Laminated pages from a children's book are attached to wooden stakes, which are installed along an outdoor path. As you stroll down the trail, you're directed to the next page in the story.

StoryWalk® has been installed in 50 states and 12 countries including, Germany, Canada, England, Bermuda, Russia, Malaysia, Pakistan and South Korea! They are always received with appreciation.
