All are welcome to re-join us in Lewiston/Auburn, ME for an in-person Dempsey Challenge event experience. With safety as our priority, please note CDC and Maine state health practices will be followed.
WHEN: September 25 - Run/Walk events and September 26 - Ride events
WHAT: Dempsey Challenge in-person event
WHERE: Simard-Payne Park in Lewiston, Maine
WHO: Anyone who would like to come together for the in-person Dempsey Challenge event located in Lewiston/Auburn Maine
REGISTRATION FEE*: $50 for 1 event, $75 for both; registration fee counts towards fundraising minimum AND includes a t-shirt and decal!
MINIMUM FUNDRAISING: $250 for Adult participants ages 24 & up; $125 for Young Adult participants ages 18-23; no minimum for Youth participants ages 17 & under. Must be reached by September 1. Learn more.

*Youth and Young Adult participants ages 23 & under enjoy a 50% discount on registration fee!
Register for the Local Challenge and join us at the start line as we come together in Lewiston/Auburn Maine
To ensure proper planning for the number of people registered for our in-person event, participants who register for the Local Challenge (taking place in Lewiston/Auburn, Maine) will need to reserve your spot by meeting the fundraising minimum by September 1. If the minimum fundraising has not been met by the deadline, you forfeit your spot for the in-person Local Challenge. We will automatically change your participation to the Global Challenge where you will be able to participate virtually.
Local Challenge participants will have the option to switch to the Global Challenge at any time, however if you wish to change from the Global Challenge to the Local Challenge, you will need to do so by September 1. Participants will be reminded several times before the September 1 deadline. At this time, we do not anticipate being able to accept any registrations for the in-person Local Dempsey Challenge after September 1. Policy subject to change.

- Train with us all summer! Follow our Training Tuesdays series to prepare for the Challenge!
- Join our virtual challenges in the Dempsey Challenge app starting in July.
- Run, walk or ride on Dempsey Challenge weekend!
STEP 4: CELEBRATE
Celebrate with us in September!
- Join us for an epic live streamed celebration when we commemorate 1.5 million miles moved and $1.5 million raised!
Choose how you participate, and participate powerfully!
Many of you will have different comfort levels with participation in group activities due the COVID-19 pandemic. We want everyone to feel safe and comfortable, which is why you will be able to choose (and change) your participation for 2021. During registration, you will choose your Challenge location and confirm your plan as you get closer to event weekend. A detailed health and safety event plan based on current CDC guidelines will be provided to you to help you make your final decision about how you participate.
Dempsey Challenge weekend will continue to be a chance to engage and enlist support from friends, family, and colleagues during your fundraising outreach. We are ready to come together, both in-person in Lewiston and virtually with our extended global community to push towards our ambitious fundraising target. Together, we will reach our goal of $1.5 million raised and help provide a a haven of support for cancer patients, their loved ones, and care partners-- all at no cost.
